A SYSTEM TO INTERPRET AND SUMMARISE SOME PATTERNS IN IMAGES

Abstract

In this paper, a system that is designed and implemented for automatic interpretation of some patterns in satellite images is described. Some natural patterns such as land, island, water body, river, fire in remote-sensed images are extracted and summarised in linguistic terms using fuzzy sets. A new graphical tool (Multimedia University’s RSIMANA-Remote-Sensing Image Analyser) developed for image analysis, which is part of the system is also described in this paper.
