Foreword: This book contains the proceedings of the 14th International Conference on Computer Supported Education (CSEDU 2022), organized and sponsored by the Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication (INSTICC). The conference was held in cooperation with IELA - The International E-Learning Association, ASEE - American Society for Engineering Education and SPEE - Portuguese Society for Engineering Education. This year, CSEDU was held from 22 to 24 April as a web-based event, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. CSEDU is an annual meeting place for presenting and discussing learning paradigms, best practices, and case studies about innovative computer-supported learning strategies, web-based distance learning, e-learning, technology-enhanced learning, and institutional policies on computer-based learning. CSEDU 2022 provided an overview of the state of the art in these areas, promoted discussions about the educational potential of new learning technologies in the academic and corporate worlds, and outlined new directions and upcoming trends. This conference brought together researchers and practitioners interested in empirical studies, methodologies and applications related to the education field. It had seven main topic areas, covering different aspects of Computer Supported Education, including “Artificial Intelligence in Education,” “Domain Applications and Case Studies,” “Information Technologies Supporting Learning,” “Learning/Teaching Methodologies and Assessment,” “Social Context and Learning Environments,” “Ubiquitous Learning” and “Current topics”. These proceedings demonstrate new and innovative solutions and highlight the challenging technical problems of these areas and other fields related to computer-supported education. CSEDU 2022 received 181 paper submissions from 38 countries, of which 25% were accepted as full papers. The high quality of the submitted papers necessitated difficult choices in the review process. To evaluate each submission, a double-blind paper review was performed by 162 Program Committee members, who are all highly qualified independent researchers in the CSEDU topic areas. The conference was complemented with the following Special Sessions: • The 3rd International Special Session on Computer Supported Music Education – CSME, chaired by Luca Andrea Ludovico, Università degli Studi di Milano, Italy; • The Special Session on Analytics in Educational Environments - A2E, chaired by Ana Azevedo, CEOS.PP / ISCAP / P.PORTO, Portugal; • The special session on Gamification on Computer Programming Learning - GonCPL, chaired by Martinha Piteira, IPS/ESTS, Portugal • The 5th Special Session on Educational Knowledge Management – EKM, chaired by Marie-Helene Abel, HEUDIASYC CNRS UMR, University of Compiègne, France, Christine Lahoud, French University, Egypt and Lilia Cheniti Belcadhi, ISITCom, PRINCE Research Lab, Sousse University, Tunisia. The high quality of the CSEDU 2022 programme was enhanced by four keynote lectures, delivered by experts in education and educational technology, including (alphabetically): Ton de Jong (University of Twente, Netherlands), Cristobal Romero Morales (University of Cordoba, Spain), Katrien Verbert (KU Leuven, Belgium) and Erin Walker (University of Pittsburgh, United States). The proceedings will be submitted for indexation by SCOPUS, Google Scholar, The DBLP Computer Science Bibliography, Semantic Scholar, Engineering Index (EI) and Web of Science / Conference Proceedings Citation Index. All presented papers will be available at the SCITEPRESS Digital Library. The best papers to the conference and the best student submissions were distinguished with awards based on the best-combined marks of paper reviewing, as assessed by the Program Committee, and the quality of the presentation, as assessed by chairs at the conference. The winners’ names will appear on the conference website along with the winners of the previous editions of the conference, under the menu option “Awards”. Building an interesting and successful program for the conference required the dedicated effort of many people. We would like to express our thanks to all participants. First, to the authors, whose quality work is the essence of this conference. We would also like to express our gratitude to all members of the Program Committee and auxiliary reviewers, who provided their expertise and valuable time. Furthermore, we thank the invited speakers for their invaluable contributions and for taking the time to synthesize their work and prepare their talks. Finally, we gratefully acknowledge the professional support of the INSTICC team for handling all organizational issues, especially given the need to introduce online streaming, forum management, direct messaging facilitation, and other web-based activities to make it possible for CSEDU 2022 authors to present their work and share ideas with colleagues, despite the challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope that all colleagues who participated in the conference and/or read its proceedings found it fruitful and inspiring. We hope to contribute to the development of Computer Supported Education and look forward to the next edition of CSEDU, details of which are available at https://csedu.scitevents.org/. (More)
